8vo.. Sammy Kaye (1910 - 1987) was an American bandleader and songwriter, whose tag line, "Swing and sway with Sammy Kaye", became one of the most famous of the Big Band Era. His signature tune was "Harbor Lights". A leader of one of the so-called "Sweet" bands of the Big Band Era, he made a large number of records for the top labels, including RCA Victor and Columbia. He was also huge on radio and on the concert touring circuit. Handsome set of this popular anthology compiled by the popular Big Band leader . Custom slipcase approx.6x9 inches and cloth covered, with the original front label retained. Both dust jackets show minor chipping at the edges, else clean, square, sharp, and tight. Both volumes are inscribed on the frontis by Sammy Kaye.Overall a very nice collectible set.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: Good
