A scrapbook of Officer LeRoy Hunt covering years 1949 -1955 from his Promotion to Sergeant to a promotion to Captain in Lansing, Michigan. There are congratulatory letters and telegrams on achievements and Promotions (Many). There are newspaper clippings of cases he was involved in including an escape with a glossy press photo posing with the escapee. There are fascinating if somewhat horrific clippings, one of an amateur mining expedition that blew up, all but obliterating five of the would-be prospectors. They were drawn to a nearby shuttered gold mine in search of uranium. There was quite a run on that in the beginning of the Cold War. Great pictures, great stories, lots of different letterheads and letters from officials. There is a great candid shot of the policeman and Barbara Hutton. He escorted her during a visit to Lansing. Album approx. 11.5x11x3 inches, 98 pages.. Scrapbook. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover Click here for full details of this book, to ask a question or to buy it on-line.
