Expertly rebacked in a brown half calf saving the original cloth boards. Five raised bands in six compartments. Tooled gilt lettering and floral design along the spine. , All plates are clean, crisp and in very good condition. , 4to (210mm x 265mm), Illustrated with superb 61 hand colored plates and 13 black & white plates.

This work is magnificently illustrated and is considered famous for its large decorative plates showing some American flowers. It should be noted that the work is actually written by R.W. Dickson using the pseudonym of McDonald.
