Circa 1880s. Original hand colored photograph (4 x 5 3/4 inch) on a mounting board. Image of a child encrusted with jewels and surrounded with gold carved from olive wood. Located in the Basilica di St Mary in Ara Coeli on the Capitoline Hill of Ancient Rome. The statue is displayed at the High Alter on Christmas Eve in memory of Jesus. The original was stolen in 1994 and a copy is now in its place. Very good clean photograph of the missing stature.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
