With illustrated endpapers and drawings contributed by Barbara Jones, John Minton, Edward Bawden, David Gentleman, Walter Goetz, Julian Trevelyan, Laurence Scarfe, Kenneth Rowntree and various others, including some colour examples. One corner knocked, and with a hint of rubbing to the boards in one or two places. A very good copy in price-clipped Gerard Hoffnung-designed dust wrapper, somewhat rubbed, chipped, creased and dust marked with several small areas of loss. John Betjeman contributes his essay 'Wise and Unwise Drinking'. Additional contributions are provided by Nancy Mitford, John Arlott, Louis Golding, John Pudney, Margery Allingham, Compton Mackenzie, Humphrey Lyttelton, Kenneth Tynan &c.
