Very good - binding with minor shelfwear, some faint spotting to spine; interior is fine, clean and crisp, except for the rear hinge, which is cracked. Dust jacket is in good condition, several small closed tears, rear panel creased, edges nicked. A. J. Balaban (1889- 1962) was an innovative showman who grew with the motion picture industry and changed the way Americans experienced movie going. Starting in 1909 in Chicago, where he ran a nickelodeon house, he went on to develop grand movie palaces that integrated movies and live stage shows that alternated throughout the day in continuous performance.
