Circa 1900, sized 6 x 9.5 inches, on heavy gloss paper, generally very clean and bright. The author, b. Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, a attended Lombard University, now Knox College, in Galesburg, Illinois. Returning to Hartford, he taught for several years in the high school and studied law in West Bend. He was editor of the West Bend Republican from 1872 - 1873, and in 1873 was admitted to the bar and set up a law practice. He was superintendent of schools for Washington County, 1876 - 1880, and was a delegate to the Republican national convention in 1884. In 1894 he was elected to Congress and served from March, 1895 - March, 1903. From 1906 to 1919 he was associate justice of the U. S. Court of Claims in Washington, D. C.. Print. Book Condition: VG.
