In two octavo volumes: [8],432;[2],398 pp. Fifty-five (of 69?) engraved plates; frontispiece in vol. 1 and 54 folding plates. (The title-page mentions 69 plates; however, no plate list is included.) Contemporary calf sides, scuffed and scratched on surfaces, and edgeworn; professionally rebacked in calf with a morocco spine label. A few leaves at the end of vol. 1 and a few leaves at the beginning of vol. 2 are lightly wormed. Despite a few pencil notes and a few instances of light foxing, text and plates are really quite clean. A sound and very good copy of this compendium of materials and techniques used in fine and applied arts.
