In her introductory epigram to this collection of verse, Betty Sullivan likens the written word to a pebble dropped into a pond, making circles. Just so, her poems cast vibrations that touch off other feeling-circles, which can affect all readers. Whether she is using the wry approach, as in "An Answer to Reilly's Requisites," or being straight-on dedicated to a worthwhile cause like "Conversation," or speaking of the longings of young girls (and if early dreams are fulfilled in this life!) - poetess Sullivan fashions strong "pebbles." And like the pebbles at the bottom of a pond, the poems come to us in various shades and sizes, which is a testament to virtuosity, and which makes Poetic Pebbles the kind of collection that never grows dull, and is always interesting and inspiring reading.. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: Fair
