Circa 1900, sized 6 x 9.5 inches, on heavy gloss paper, generally very clean and bright. The author, b. Fulton, Rock County, Wisconsin, June 24, 1851, was a banker, lawyer, and Wisconsin politician. When he was not more than a few months old his parents, Elbridge and Lovina Bradford moved from Wisconsin to New Hampshire. Ira was educated in the academies and seminaries of New Hampshire. He read law in New Hampshire and in Erie County PA. In the Spring of 1873, he went to Augusta, Wisconsin, after being admitted to the Bar in April. He soon started up his own practice. In 1875, he commenced the banking business, in partnership with Russell Hackett. In 1880, he was elected Assemblyman, and was chosen Speaker of the House. He was the youngest and only native from Wisconsin to ever fill this position. He was also elected in 1885 as the first Mayor of Augusta.. Print. Book Condition: VG. Binding: No Binding
