Circa 1900, sized 6 x 9.5 inches, on heavy gloss paper, generally very clean and bright. Bunn, b. Hartwick, Otsego County, New York, was a lawyer, politician, judge, and professor. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1853. He moved to Wisconsin in 1855, and in 1856 settled in Galesville, where he farmed and engaged in local politics. He served as county district attorney 1857 - 1858, and state assemblyman, 1860. In 1861, he moved to Sparta and set up a law practice. He was elected judge of the old 6th Wisconsin circuit and served from 1869 to 1877. In 1877 he was appointed by President Rutherford B. Hayes as U. S. district judge for the western district of Wisconsin, a position he held until his retirement in 1905.. Print. Book Condition: VG.
