circa.1930s. Original photograph (5 x 7 inch) with printed inscription "Love and Kisses Eddie Cantor" on the upper right corner. Eddie Cantor (1892-1964) was an American comic, actor, singer, and dancer who starred in vaudeville, theater, movies, radio, and TV. An early star for the Ziegfeld Follies during 1917-1927, first president of the Screen Actors Guild, 1933-35. During the 1930s he was the highest paid star on radio and was famous for starting the "March of Dimes" in January 1938 raising some 2,680,000 dimes for the cause of polio.
