Brooklyn, NY, ownership notation, probably late 19th century, when Japanese-made Satsuma ware enjoyed a considerable vogue in America and Europe. Bound-in, there are a total of 94 pages of vases, bowls, and urns skillfully depicted in watercolor and gouache, with touches of gilt, to represent the 'brocaded' Satsuma surfaces. There is a single numbered image on each sheet, but no caption. The numbers are consecutive, though not continuous, from 2 through 105. Additionally, there are one and a half extra sheets, similarly decorated, which are loose and laid-in. Housed in a modern custom box.
