First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 96pp. Red cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with a gilt-stamped decoration to the upper board. Map-illustrated endpapers designed by Lynton Lamb. A sliver of discolouration to the head of the cloth where the dust wrapper is defective, and a strip of light partial toning to the half-title and to the final text leaf. Top edge spotted. Very good indeed in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly creased and nicked at the upper edge with four quite small areas of edge-loss. The first volume of the author's celebrated Arthurian poetry cycle (Williams deemed it his most important work). This 1938 publication was followed by 'The Region of the Summer Stars' in 1944, but the remainder of the conceived work remained incomplete at the time of his death.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good.
