The theme of this book is adventure: adventure by sea in all kinds of ships by all sorts of seamen during the period of the last two hundred and fifty years (then
1924).Not a story, not an incident here to be found comes under the heading of fiction; on the contrary, every word is solid history,in some cases obtained first-hand.There is nothing included that will not stand the test of historical accuracy. These events really did happen.
