Colophon on the last page: "Our friend Maurice Kaplan kept his interests alive in Typophile affairs through the years. He died suddenly from a coronary condition at his home in Westport, Conn., August 5. Those of us attending the services at Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York, heard this moving, sincere tribute by his close friend Harold Courlander, anthropologist and writer.
