James Wood Davidson (1829-1905) was a Southern educator, journalist, and author. During the Civil War, he served in the Confederate Army from 1862-1863 as an adjutant of infantry in General Stonewall Jackson's army. In this letter to the editors of Southern Society, Wood says he will gladly make contributions to their publications and promote it among his newspaper contacts.. Manuscript.
