Internally: Former owner's name/date (1947) on first free endpaper. Text block heavily age toned (mostly because publisher used cheaper paper stock), occasional creases; else overall Good. No cracks to hinges or joints. No bookplates or stickers, and no writing or underlines in text. Text is readable. Not a former library book. Dustjacket: Large piece (about 2-inches wide 1½-inches high) missing from bottom right corner of front panel (plus part of spine strip). Heavy wear/chips/short tears to extremities, especially to top/foot of spine panel. Chips/tears to folds. Some rubbing, abrasion, foxing. Lightly age toned, darker at spine panel. Price clipped. Else Fair. Protected in Mylar cover. According to the publisher, this is the most popular of the Dicken's classics, with movie stills from J. Arthur Rank's production house.
