Original letter handwritten in black ink on a beige notecard. Signed, "Jas. Fitzmaurice-Kelly." Card has the following header printed in blue ink on front: "The Old Hall, Aigburth, Liverpool." Datelined April 11, 1912 in Liverpool, England. 5" x 3 1/2." Two pages (notecard written on both sides). Notecard is virtually pristine and intact except for light to moderate age toning and slight wear to extremities. A Near Fine copy. James Fitzmaurice-Kelly (1858-1923) was a British author who specialized in the study of Spanish literature. In this brief letter, Fitzmaurice-Kelly writes to Philip H. Churchman whom he addresses as "Mr. Churchman." Churchman had written an essay, The Beginnings of Byronism in Spain, and sent Fitzmaurice-Kelly a copy.
