A Fine book in a Fine dust jacket. The eighth installment of the thirteen-book Bantan series. Maurice B. Gardner (1905-1977) was an American author and diesel machinist and inspector for the Maine Central Railroad. He is perhaps best-known for his Bantan series of novels which were highly inspired by Edgar Rice Burroughs's Tarzan. Bantan is a warrior-like protagonist who has many adventures and faces numerous perils on hidden islands in the South Pacific. The story in this book is a direct continuation of the one in Bantan Primeval. Bantan and Mena are still on an unnamed island where they must contend with dinosaurs and other ferocious creatures. They meet Nulu, a mysterious woman who strangely resembles Mena. Zarna, the fierce "Amazonian" leader, still has designs on taking Bantan as her love. Bantan must again do battle with prehistoric monsters and face off against Zarna.. Illustr.: Prosser, David. Book. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: Hardcover.
