A letter about Caslon Type Faces written by Eric Gill to his younger brother 'Maz' McDonald Gill and published in the Hawkesyard Review, 1918. 'Its purpose here is to show the range of Caslon types in use at the Whittington Press. Each size was cast by Stephenson Blake of Sheffield. The 16-point came to us from the Stanbrook Abbey Press, and was probably cast by the Caslon Foundry, before it was acquired by Stephenson Blake Ltd in 1937. The 96 -point initial M was cast by American Type Founders'. Printed on Zerkall Ingres paper. Very good condition, some creasing around edges. Will be sent rolled in a stout cardboard tube. [809].
