Previous owner's neat, dark ink initialled name [PWG - (for Peter William Goad, see rja457813,a uniform
edn of another title from same series and same owner's name, but in full this time though!] to top edge of ffe, minus an issued dw/dj.Bright,
clean, generally sharp-cornered with minimal rubbing, publisher's plum paper-covered boards,pasted/onlaid white paper labels, printed in dark plum ink to the front boards and the spine/backstrip, bright, clean, plain white eps, with negligible shelf-wear to extremities.Pasted/
onlaid label to upper board is bright and clean; spine/backstrip similar label more tanned/darkened -a ubiquitous fault, having seen and handled several previous examples - see rja457813 particularly. Both head+foot of spine/backstrip,edges and corners too, show miniscule signs
of rubbing - due in part to book's age (85 years old - now 2013).Top edge heavily aged/darkened; fore-edges less affected, but still lightly tanned/aged with some sporadic foxing/spotting; contents bright, tight and generally clean and crisp - minimal spotting/foxing
to page edges' only.UK,12mo HB,1st edn,includes 5-95pp+2-24pp publisher's catalogue at rear,plus [unpaginated] half-title+title pages,and first page of publisher's catalogue as a publisher's advert.
Described hard, but fairly and honestly; not half as bad as it reads - really a very, very good example, given it's age! One of the titles from the publisher's 'To-Day and To-Morrow' series.
Since April,2013,the UK Post Office
has increased it's Pricing in Proportion template, altering its weight allowances, dimensions and lowered its compensation rates too!
