Light wear/fading of spine affecting several letters. Edges age darken. Internally: Former owner's name on first free endpaper (very old, script-like signature). First blank page has short tear. Several signatures/gatherings cracked at gutter, partially loose. Overall, lightly age toned, scattered foxing, and Fair condition. Pages readable. Free of bookplates and stickers. Not a former library book. Uncommon book. Fascinating fiction story about a gentleman found shot to death in his home and a young man, Ebenezer Gryce, was given the case to investigate.
