In the letter Guedalla thanks Johnson for a check, mentions speeches he has made recently, says that he is 15,000 words into a new manuscript, and says "The Roosevelt volumes are a mine; and my political principles are still about as depraved as you found them in New York." A witty and informative letter. Guedalla (b. 1889, d. 1944) was a British biography, history and travel writer. He was also a barrister and politician.
