155 pages (complete). A comfortably owned copy. First edition of this historic and very influential book. "Cowboy Kate & Other Stories (1964) was probably the first book to deliberately explore black-and-white photographic grain as a medium for expression and image design. It was highly influential at the time, sold roughly a million copies worldwide and won the Prix Nadar in France in 1964. It continues to influence contemporary photographers, film makers, fashion designers and make-up artists." "It flows well and has tremendous vitality. Haskins was a master of his medium who wasn?t afraid to push the boundaries, embracing the ?imperfect? to dramatic effect ? deliberately exploiting the grain of the film, or using blur to convey a sense of movement." The dustjacket has a clear cellophane protective cover. The dj has some general wear and scuffing and light marks. It is comfortable and sure. The boards are affable and tidy. They have some very light wear to the corners and edges. Within, the contents have evidence of avid, contented use throughout. However, the pages are clean, clear, certain, generous, vivacious and congenial. fk. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Hardcover.
