First Edition (first printing), of which 1,500 copies were printed. 8vo. 246pp. Red cloth lettered in gold at the spine. Top edge dust marked, with a little fraying to the backstrip ends and a minor slant to the binding. Spine lettering a little dulled, with some creasing to the upper corner of the final text leaf, and the binding just a little tender at one gathering. A good copy, really very crisp internally. No dust wrapper. The author's fourth book, a "nearly-accurate" autobiography, dashed out at the ripe old age of 35 to precede his almost-certain demise during World War Two (in face Green survived the war, where he served as a fireman in the Auxiliary Fire Service, experiences echoed in his fifth book, the novel 'Caught').
