A little bruising to the cloth at the backstrip ends. Some fox spotting to the endpapers and to several preliminary and concluding leaves. A very good copy. No dust wrapper. The Irish poet's first book, comprising the lengthy five-part title verse sequence followed by nineteen further poems and two pages of notes. Laid-in is a clipping from 'The Nation' of Trenchs poem 'The Dream of Sully Prudhomme', not included in this collection. This copy from the library of 'Friend to the Poets' John Wilton Haines, with his pencilled signature and address details to the front free endpaper, and a few notes pencilled in his hand to the front pastedown. (Haines was a Gloucestershire solicitor, naturalist and occasional poet, best remembered as the close friend of Edward Thomas and Robert Frost, and an associate of virtually all of the Georgian and Dymock poets)..
