Original publisher's brochure with a black and white illustration of the hotel on the front and back panels. No date, circa late 1910s-early 1920s. 2 1/4" x 5 1/2." Eight pages, complete. Five black and white illustrations, complete. One leaf with accordion folds that opens into four panels. Brochure is very clean and intact. A Fine copy. Among the illustrations are reprinted photographs advertising the hotel's features and interiors including the lobby, a typical guest room, the grill (restaurant), and the coffee shop. The brochure briefly describes the amenities and the rates, which range between $2.50 for a room for one with a shower bath and $8.00 for a room with a bath and twin beds for two. F. M. Dimmick is named as hotel manager. Hotel Clark was a luxury hotel located between 4th and Hill Street in Los Angeles, California. The hotel was built by Eli P. Clark in 1914. The building was later turned into an apartment complex. In 1979, following ownership by JCG Financial Company, Sunday Inn, Incorporated, tried to turn the building back into a hotel, but the residents sued and won the case. In 1988, the building was bought by May Wah International Enterprises of the People's Republic of China, who had planned to turn the buildingl into a business and cultural center. May Wah International Enterprises had renovated the interior but kept the original exterior of the hotel. Plans fell through for the company when United States-China relations deteriorated. Today, the building is owned by the Cherit Group, who has been in the process of renovating it since 2012.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Fine.
