The books were printed by the finest printing companies in various countries, in unusually fine bindings and papers,with beautifully decorated slipcases, illustrated by a well-known illustrator, sometimes hand-colored, sometimes with original etchings, and usually signed by the illustrator. They are some of the most beautiful books published in recent times and have become highly collectible.
