Holbrook Jackson (1874-1948) was a British writer, publisher, and journalist. He was a prominent bibliophile in his time and worked with other leading figures in the literary field including A. R. Orage and George Bernard Shaw. During his career, Jackson took part in many literary and intellectual organizations such as the Leeds Arts Club, the Fabian Society, the Flying Fame Press, and the Pelican Press. In 1911, Jackson worked at T. P. O'Connor's T. P. Weekly, a literary newspaper. In 1914, he took over as editor and later bought the newspaper and changed it to his own magazine, To-Day. To-Day was published from 1917 to 1923 after which it merged with Life and Letters, a literary journal that was published until 1935. To-Day is a monthly literary magazine and includes a variety of features such as prose, essays, poetry, and artwork. Printed on the front cover: "This number of 'To-Day' contains poems by Eden Phillpotts, Theodore Maynard, Hermon Ould, Flight-Lieut. Branford, J. D. Gleeson, Fitzroy N. Griffin, and H. M. Waithman; essays by C. E. Lawrence, Clifford Bax, W. L. Randell, Arnold Gyde, F. W. Ferguson, Bernard Lintot, and the editor; and a camera study of Mr. Herbert Trench by Alvin Langdon Coburn."
