12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 1st edition 2nd impression; approx1.5 in or 36 mm thick across the back of the spine. Single * to the half title confirms edition status. Not that this has a lot of meaning as the book is ex library and has been rebound. Name in ink to half title. Book appears to have been slightly cut down when rebound in brown boards which display ageing and mottling. Page edges have been professionally decoratively sprayed with pink speckling. Front free endpaper has been omitted in the rebind. Now covered in a heavy duty protective sleeve. Text block displays quite a deal of foxing. Good solid reading copy and quite hard to find in this early state which has the frontis omitted in later editions.. Illustr.: Howard Leigh & Alfred Sindall. Book. Book Condition: Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 1st edition 2nd impression approx1.5 in or 35 mm thick across the back of the spine, Blue boards, missing colour frontis has been replaced with a colour photo copy. Top edge of the compressed page edges was once tinted blue but has faded considerably. Boards are grubby and the front board is heavily creased which has torn pastedown on the inside of the board. Spine is fraying to front leading edge, all corners bumped. Name in ink to front endpaper, library stamp to front endpaper, half-title, title and rear endpapers. Compressed page edges are dirty and there are dirty finger marks to a few pages. Quite hard to find in this early state.. Illustr.: Howard Leigh & Alfred Sindall. Book. Book Condition: Fair+/Good-. Jacket has had the flap edges trimmed , the residue of a label to the spine and tape to the bottom and top edges of the jacket on the obverse. There is remains of library impedimenta to the front endpapers, tape ghosts, tape to front hinge, shelf wear, age toning to the text block and a library stamp to the title page.
