Full title - The Very Joyous, Pleasant and Refreshing History of the Feats, Exploits, Triumphs and Achievements of the Good Knight Without Fear and Without Reproach the Gentle Lord De Bayard. Based on the original memoirs of Bayard by his secretary under the modest designation of "le loyal serviteur" who, although not mentioned, was probably J. De Mailles. The memoirs first appeared in 1527, three years after the hero's death. Profusely illustrated with a cover impressed with a design of the knight in red, gold and blue with decorated spine on grey cloth boards. Slight wear to spine head, tail and sides and to corner tips with some light scratches to back.
