Recently rebound in unblemished,dark blue cloth boards with bright blocked gilt letters to spine/backstrip and immaculate (replaced),pale blue endpapers,with virtually no shelf-wear to edges or corners - no bumping to extremities or corners.Top edge patchily coloured (blue); fore-edges slightly aged and darkened with some sporadic foxing/spotting,contents bright,tight, solid,sound and generally clean with minimal, sporadic page-edge foxing/spotting.Last 10pp (pp275-284) centrally and lightly grubbed,
increasing in intensity towards the last 4pp which are the index,the last page of same,having a small tear towards it's vertical edge. Sir Charles Edward Kingsford-Smith (February 9,1897-November,1935),often called Charles Kingsford-Smith,or by his nickname Smithy,was the best-known early Australian aviator, completing the first non-stop crossing of the Australian mainland,the first flight from Australia to New Zealand,and the first to complete the more difficult eastward Pacific crossing from Australia to the United States. Kingsford-Smith International Airport,located in Mascot,Australia,near Sydney,is named after him.
