With a one page autograph letter to Pamela Solarsh, Johannesburg personality and Mayor's secretary for many years: "Dear Pamela, It is with great affection that I write my name in your copy of my autobigraphy "Wits End". Although you may not know it I have followed your own career with interest for a long time, and always admired the grace and efficiency with which you have assisted many Mayors. With kindest regards, I remain, Yours most sincerely, Percival R Kirby".
