Letter handwritten on beige card in black ink. Datelined March 26, 1892 in New York. 5" x 4." Two pages. Signed in intials, "C. M. K." Card, handwriting, and signature are very clean and intact. Charles M. Kurtz (1853-1909) was an American art critic, writer, and museum curator. Beginning in 1891, he served as one of Halsey Ives's assistants in the Fine Arts Department at Chicago's Columbian Exposition. In this letter to his wife, Judy, Kurtz writes about being unexpectedly called back to Chicago from New York to meet with the Congressional Committee. He also talks about some events in the New York area involving him and Ives.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
