First American Edition. Original publisher's dark blue cloth binding. Silhouetted illustration of trees and the ocean on front. White lettering printed on front and spine. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2." 405 pages, complete. Six additional pages in back advertising other books. Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning. Covers are clean and intact overall but have a small spot of residue and faint water ring on front and slight wear to extremities. A Very Good copy. Adventure (1911) is a novel by American author Jack London (1876-1916). The novel takes place on the Solomon Islands and is about a plantation owner, David Sheldon, who meets a spirited woman named Joan Lackland. This book also includes themes of racial conflicts, slavery, white imperialism and colonialism, and the relationship between man and nature. Please note that this book includes discriminatory depictions of Melanesian people. Listed in the Bibliography of American Literature (BAL) as No. 11928.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good.
