Small black and white illustration in the upper-left corner showing a soldier with the motto, "Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain." Stationary is blank and unused. No date, circa 1877-1879 (blank fill-in date within 1870s). Location is Washington, Iowa. 7 3/4" x 9 3/4." Stationery is very clean and intact overall. A few small, occasional marks on the front and back. Slight wrinkling. Printer is listed as "Mills & Co., Des Moines, Iowa." Letterhead is next to the illustration and reads, "J. F. McJunkin. Attorney General. Office of the Attorney General." John F. McJunkin (1830-1883) was an American politician and lawyer. McJunkin practiced law until 1864 when he served as a Republican senator in the Iowa State Senate. McJunkin served in this position until 1868.
