No owner inscrptn and no price-clip to dw/dj.Bright,crisp,clean,glossy,wrap-around white background with facsimile reproductions of Milligan's bank account at Lloyds Bank Ltd. with author's superimposed,half-length b/w portrait photograph to front,and to the rear panel,a copy of his 1959-60 Income Tax Final demand with author's handwriting examples respectively.Front panel with black-lettered title and author's handwritten,black-lettered facsimile signature; spine/backstrip with author's handwritten, capitalised,black-lettered instruction TO READ, PULL OUT AND OPEN,rear panel with author's further facsimile handwritten addresses etc. Negligible shelf-wear to edges and corners – no nicks,tears or splits present - but minimal, inevitable age-acquired superficial scoring but these without any penetration to boards beneath. Top+fore-edges eceptionally bright,crisp and clean - unblemished without ageing/toning,nor any foxing/spotting at all - virtually pristine as are the contents - exceptionally bright, tight,clean,solid and sound – no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners – would appear unread,untouched other than my collation. Publisher's bright,crisp and clean/unblemished, sharp-cornered,original plain red cloth with very,very minimal pushing to both head+foot of spine,the same also with bright,crisp,blocked, gilt-lettered spine/backstrip and immaculate white endpapers with author's b/w illustrations along bottom edges of same,no hinge cracking or foxing/spotting or any off-setting from dw/dj inner flaps.UK,12mo HB+dw/dj,1st edn,92pp [unpaginated and includes the free endpapers], plus illustrated half-title,title page,an illustrated Acknowledgement page,author's dedication,separate contributions from,Harry Secombe and Peter Rawley (Actor-Manager),a Contents list/table,a title separator page, profuse b/w line illustrations/drawings by author,profuse capitioned b/w photographs and facsimile reproductions throughout and assorted humorous writings,poems etc by the author too.  Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional and particularly internally,is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of its 60+ year-old age. It is only the minor and minimal faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite that,it really is still an exceptional,exemplary example for its cleanliness,brightness and lack of detracting faults.                     In the year 1903 x 2,Terence Alan Milligan, Batchelor of Button,and Spinster of this Parish, commenced work on work.For fifty agonised years he laboured for 3years.Time was when his army pension,a store of dried fruit,was getting perilously low,and only stood one foot 3 inches. Nevertheless,girding his loins with cheap girders,he pressed on,in,off and out.Finally in the terrible winter of '08,he fell sobbing into the arms of his publisher,who immediately guided Milligan's unconscious hand at the foot of a powerful contract.Hurriedly the publisher felt in the Milligan's pockets; in lieu of money,to his trembling hand came the faded writing of 50 years ago.                                       The title? THE LITTLE POT BOILER. Praise be,a masterpiece had been saved for the nation. And here it is!!!
