With a colour frontispiece, a multi-panel folding colour map and twenty-seven black and white photographs. A touch of very light chafing to the cloth at several extremities, and some spotting to the endpapers and unprinted flyleaves. A very good copy in quite poor dust wrapper: nicked, chipped, chafed and torn, and clipped and re-priced by the publisher. The first part of the author's informal trilogy of south-east Asian travel books, concluded by 'Golden Earth' (1952) and 'A Goddess in the Stones' (1991).. Book. Book Condition: Very Good.
