Original black-and-white publicity photograph showing men on a balcony overlooking at something in a scenic landscape. This is a still showing part of the filming process of The Red Danube (1949). 10" x 8." "1439 x 22" printed in lower-right corner on front. Green stamp on back: "Approved, Advertising [partial text], Jun 22 1949, Hollywood." Typed description on back. Photo is very clean and intact overall but has a few wrinkles at the corners. A Near Fine copy. The Red Danube (1954) is an adventure drama set against the backdrop of Cold War paranoia. It was based on the book, Vespers in Vienna (1947). Description on back: "Panoramic View...Director George Sidney and Cameraman Charles Rosher get set to record a panoramic view to be used in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's exciting story of post-war Vienna, 'The Red Danube.' Sidney is seen in the background, with pipe, and Rosher is leaning over the rail surveying the scene. The cast of the film is headed by Walter Pidgeon, Peter Lawford, Angela Lansbury, Janet Leigh, Ethel Barrymore, Louis Calhern, Melville Cooper, Francis Sullivan.
