Very good indeed in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, a little rubbed and chafed at the spine ends and corner tips and with a little dust soiling and an area of miscellaneous staining to the rear panel. The author's first novel, a World War Two story set in Bengal and Burma which was initially rejected by seventeen publisher's before going on to win the Eyre & Spottiswoode Literary Fellowship Prize.
