Senator, and judge. He entered the University of Michigan but left school in 1864 to serve as First Lieutenant, Company C, 39th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry (100-day volunteers). He was appointed by President Theodore Roosevelt as U. S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, a capacity in which he served from 1905 until his death.. Print. Book Condition: VG.
