Much of the booklet is an index that lists of all of California's towns and cities. This index includes the town's or city's location on the Standard Map of California. Contents of the Handbook are listed as follows: "Index: All Cities and Towns in State; Counties, with Area and Population; Principal Cities, listed according to population; Physical Features, Parks, Rivers, Lakes, Mountains, etc.," "Transportation Lines: Railroads and Key; Electric Lines; Steamship Lines," and "Aero Data: Airway Map of the U. S.; Airport Directory; Aids to Navigation; Practical Air Navigation." The Index of Cities and Town includes the city's or town's location on the map, availability of "railroads, electric lines, prepay freight stations, post offices, telegraph stations, express offices, [and] banking facilities, "and the "latest population figures." Services or businesses such as railroads and telegraph stations are demarcated by abbreviations or icons next to the city's name. There are also lists of steamship lines and principal cities. Following this is a list of parks, "Indian reservations," points of interest, and geographical physical features, such as bays, mountains, lakes, and rivers. In the back is an introductory section about proper air navigation and navigation aids and instruments pilots should familiarize themselves with when traveling. The air travel section briefly goes over how to plot a course using one air map as well as two and addresses scenarios in which the pilot may have to rely on the airplane's instruments alone.. Book.
