The Roycroft Shop was founded in 1895 by Elbert Hubbard as an art community in East Aurora, New York. Members of the community were known as the Roycrofters. The Roycrofters played a significant role in the development of the American Arts and Crafts movement, architecture, and design. Among the disciplines represented by the Roycroft Shop were printing, bookbinding, furniture design, metalsmithing, and leathersmithing. The group was active until 1938. There are several references to Elbert Hubbard and other leading Roycrofters in this booklet.
