The map in the back shows roads, freeways, and the locations of all of the towns that were described within the boundaries approximately demarcated, going clockwise from the northwest, by Red Bluff, Reno, Yosemite National Park, and San Francisco. Sacramento is placed roughly center. The last page of text encourages readers to stay in Sacramento and visit the aforementioned destinations surrounding it.
