The Chinese Cultural Revolution, circa 1966-1976, was a social/ political movement started by Mao Tse Tung, Chairman of the ruling CCP, to reinforce strict communist dogma and obliterate traditional Chinese culture and capitalism. This armband declares its' wearer to be Red Guards Shulan #7 Middle School Red Guards Committee No.022. Mao mobilized students at the onset of the Cultural Revolution in 1966-68 to drive his doctrine throughout China quickly. A little soiling, unhemmed edges, very nice condition.. Ephemera.
