232 pages plus illustration plates (complete). Inscribed by Sim to Professor J W Bews (a leading ecologist and one time Principal of the University of Natal), dated: 17/8/1921, on the title page. Two illustration plates have annotations in the author's hand. A much owned, roughly stored copy. The spine has been repaired with a leather strip. The covers have dustjacket (?) debris, marks, stains, much wear. They are resolute and secure. Within, the early and later pages have been repaired about the spine. They are also worn and foxed and marked. The contents in general are placid, bear much evidence of contented use, clear, competent and diligent. A useful copy. fk. Book Condition: Poor. Thomas Sim inscribed (in copperplate) the title page: "Miss M Sim - with compliments from her brother The Author". The spine has a Dewey classification label. A sound book. The covers have a clear plastic protective cover (tidy). The boards have some light shelving wear and there is scuffing and rubbing. Within, there are annotations by Nicholson here and there.
