Original publisher's brown pebble cloth binding backed with untextured brown cloth. Gilt lettering and border decoration on front cover. Blind-stamped border decoration on back cover. No lettering on spine. All edges gilt. Illustrated title included with black-and-white oval lithograph showing men and women dancing and at leisure in a park, among whom are a flute player and pianist. No date, circa 1861. 13 1/2" x 10 1/2." Forty pages, complete. One black-and-white illustration on title page, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning and the small occasional mark. Covers are clean and intact overall but have fading along spine and surface chipping and slight wear to edges and corners. Binding is slightly loosened but still strong and holding. A Very Good copy. A beautiful and very rare book containing a collection of sheet music by Domenico Speranza. The songs were composed with the intention of being set to dances.
