Circa 1900, sized 6 x 9.5 inches, on heavy gloss paper, generally very clean and bright. The author, b. Boston, England, January 30, 1844, was a Wisconsin businessman and politician. Spratt came to Wisconsin with his family at the age of seven. From 1872 - 1891, he operated a factory for the production of farming tools, first in Sheboygan Falls and later in the city of Sheboygan. During the Civil War, he served in the 48th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Company F, at the rank of Sergeant, and was on the staffs of General A. G. Weissert, Russell A. Alger, and John B.
