Original music card game in a cardboard box. Black lid and white box. Thirty-seven playing cards on thick paper. Paper instructions included. Each card measures 2" x 3 1/4." Box measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2." Online documentation denotes thirty-nine playing cards, so two appear to be missing in this set. Cards are virtually pristine and intact except for possible slight age toning (they are a light pink-beige color). Box is very clean and intact except for a few small stains, surface chipping, and residue (possibly a rubber band that affects inside of box). Paper instructions very clean and intact except for some residue (possibly a rubber band); text very clean and readable. A Near Fine copy. This is a Game of Triads or Chords, an educational music card game aimed toward music students. Each card is printed on one side and features a note (one of the seven notes, A-G) at center, a signature (sharps and flats) in the upper-left corner, a key (note) in upper-right corner, and the chord or triad the notes belong to. The objective of the game is to match as many chords or triads as possible. Instructions offer two game variations. The front side describes the basic matching game. The back of the instructions reads, "This Game resembles Cassino." This was published by the Theodore Presser Company, which was founded in 1883.
